Creon made a law stating no one can bury Polynices and if they do they will get punish. Eteoclês on the other hand will get buried properly. Antigone wants to bury him, Ismene doesn't.
"But I will bury him; and if I must die, I say that this crime is holy: I shall lie downWith him in death" (Antigone 55).
"Antigone,I am so afraid for you!" (65).
"And the man who dared do this ?" (209).
Polyneices was buried but no one knows who did it. There is a theory that it was the Gods.
"The dead man -Polyneices -...Someone has given it burial that way, and Gone ... (209).
Creon is very angry. He is speaking about how someone disobeyed his order. He wants them to find who did it.
"King, may I speak? (257).
"Your voice distresses me" (260).
They find out that Antigone is the one who defied Creon's order.
"Here is the one who did it! We caught her In the very act of burying him" (331)
"Yes, if she will let me say so, I am guilty" (430)
Antigone is caught burying Polyneices. Her sister wants to take the blame as well. Creon wants them both gone.
"Do you confess you share in this crime, or deny it?"(427).
"No more, Ismene. You are alive, but belong to Death "(448).
