Hello ma'am, good morning, I would like to raise my concern about my child, she is having a loud, screaming temper tantrum because I refused to buy her some expensive cookies. Though I’m telling her that our money is not enough, she is not listening and keeps on complaining. What should I do?
Okay ma'am, first things first, toddlers like Lauren are vulnerable of having or expressing temper tantrums. It is because it occurs naturally as a part of development. And, toddlers can make their own choice regarding to what they want, however they do lack the vocabulary to express their feelings and choices in an acceptable way.
okay ma'am, I understand
In addition ma'am, the best way to respond to temper tantrum is to stay calm. Avoid shouting back or expressing anger because the child might imitate it.
Okay, hhmmm, what should I do during and after the temper tantrum?
Okay, so try to tell Lauren that you don’t like how she's acting and then ignore it. After that, wait until tantrum stops, then completely address the child as if nothing happened.
Okay ma'am, thank you for all the advice. Have a nice day
