Growing up in South Africa, nature was a huge part of my upbringing. The first time I interacted with the concept of climate change was on a game drive when the ranger explained that increasing irregular weather patterns in the bush were disrupting our ecosystems and communities- more extreme droughts, fires, flooding. I couldn't unsee it after that.

My family moved to the U.SI was vegan for all my teenage years which sort of led me to studying environmental studies/poli sci at UNC Chapel Hill in North Carolina.I had opportunities to take environmental and energy classes as well as do internships in retail, energy, and transportation
I have worked in corporate sustainability for 1.5 years now. I do sustainability reporting and strategy, working very inter-connectedly with energy, finance, and fuel teams

I am passionate about the clean energy transition as energy is at the core of everything we do in our lives. My goal for this class is to be able to advocate for the environment in corporations with convincing financial outlooks.
