- Whitney and Rainsford are on a yacht heading for Rio to go jaguar hunting. Off in the distance they see a island called "Ship trapped Island". Whitney ends up going to bed while Rainsford stayed on the deck to smoke his pipe. When he hears four gunshot sounds.
- Climax
- Rainsford falls out of the yacht and starts swimming to Ship trapped island . As he gets closer and closer to the island he almos hts his head on the rocks that surrond the island.
- Falling action
- Once Rainsford gets up on the island he immediately goes to sleep. When he wakes up Rainsford walks around te island and finds a place where a large animal had been killed with a very small gun. As he walks more around he finds a huge house and meets a guy named Ivan who is deaf. Ivan has a revolver pointed at Rainsford's heart. He also meets a guy that goes by the name General Zaroff. They eat dinner together at a log table.
- Resolution
- General Zaroff explains that he his bored of hunting animals and needs something exciting and something that could negotiate and reason with him. So he decides to hunt humans. So general Zaroff tricks shps into comeing on his island where their ships sink and the humans stay there. They learn how to survive in the wilderness and then they are giving food, clothes, and an excellent hunting knife.
- General Zaroff wants Rainsford to hunt with him but Rainsford declines. Gerneral then wants to hunt him. Rainsford then is given three hours to prepare for the hunt. So he makes a path that no human could ever figure out and clibs up a tree and waits. Zaroff quickly figures out Rainsford path and walks next to the tree and slowly inch by inch looks up the tree. Till right before he sees Rainsford, Zaroff chuckles and walks away. The next day Rainsford digs a hole and puts spicky sticks at the bottom and kills one of Zaroff's dogs. Zaroff then takes Ivan on the hunt with him. Rainsford ties his hunting knife to a sampling and kills Ivan.
- Rainsford then jumps off a cliff and falls into the sea. He swims till he finds a way in the house without getting seen. He hides behind some curains and surprises General Zaroff. They duel to see who will win the hunting game and Rainsford wins and kills Genral Zaroff.
