- I, Ibn Battuta started my journey to Mecca to accomplish the fifth pillar, the Hajj and left my home in early November of 1325. Myself and a group of people who were making the same journey as me stayed in a city, City Of Qabis on the way to Mecca for 10 days with non-stop rain pouring. After, the group of 100 or so armed guards and some military troops with some people including me set off from Egypt to the next spot named Tripoli, Libya.

- Cairo, Egypt
- I finally arrived at the city of Cairo, a beautiful and amazing city of all cities that is home to a horrible and rude ruler, the evil Pharaoh. I've heard that there were 12,000 men, 30,000 men, and 36,000 boats which were water-carriers, caretakers for camels and donkeys, and for the 36,000 boats it was for the king and his subjects. This place has greatly indescribable beauty, I would say.

- Mecca, Saudi Arabia
- I have finally made it to my destination, Mecca for the hajj. I changed out of all my colorful clothing and put on the pilgrims garment, just a simple white robe to show that I am equal to everyone else. During my stay, I dedicated myself to the ways of the Hajj and everything was very amazing. Everyone was very giving and kind to everyone such as the poor and to those in need, they donated to them.
