As Father and Sam were talking after they found each other in the projects, Sam said, 'It wasn't dark when I left' That was stretching it(Magoon 130)  When Sam and father were in father's car he asked what Sam had in his hand and Sam responded with him "pull[ing] the Panther information closer to [his] chest. 'Homework'" (Magoon 131).
When Leroy, Sam, and Stick were driving, Sam look at Stick and say him looking at the building, and thought, "We were in the wrong seats. When we drove along the lake, Stick liked to sit where he could see the water, and me where I could see the buildings" (Magoon 192).As Stick took the gun, Sam said to himself, "I was glad to let it go" (Magoon 189)
When Sam, Raheem, and Bucky were on the pavement, Sam was thinking about how the cop was stopping him from getting to Stick, so in his mind he thought about,  "Lunging at the cop...the urge  was so alive within me that I had not idea what force was keeping me still" (Magoon 146).
