  • 2.Too many to count. Why?
  • 3.I keep thinking about everything I didn’t do… like I’ve lived a whole past life full of mistakes, and I’m dragging the regret into this one.

  • 6. My dad said, “Some boats are meant to drift , so you learn to build better ones.”It took me years to understand what he meant.
  • 7.So you’re saying my old mistakes are… drifting boats?
  • 4.Hmm. You know this lake?When I was a kid, I threw a toy boat into it. It drifted away. I cried for hours thinking I lost something precious forever.
  • 5.And?

  • 8.Exactly. You can stand here staring at the water, wishing they’d float back… or you can go home, pick up some wood, and build a stronger boat.
  • 9. Huh!Maybe you’re right. my past doesn’t define me… it just trained me.
