- Man you're good, have you ever thought of joining the basketball team? They really need a scorer like you.
- It was a dull morning on February 21st. It was my birthday today! I'm not the one who likes receiving gifts but later do I know, I'm getting the best gift I've ever received. I got up out of bed and got ready for school.
- Climax
- ALRIGHT BOYS, I NEED TO SEE FULL EFFORT OR YOU WILL NOT BE A PART OF OUR TEAM!

- As I got to my seat, I shouted out "IT'S MY BIRTHDAY EVERYONE!" Everyone uncannily looked at me. When we left class I called my friend to meet me at the park. Surprisingly, he had a gift waiting for me. I opened it and it was a basketball. "You know I don't play sports," I said. "Shut up man, let's just go play," my friend said. Later do I know, I am about to find my real skills for basketball.

- Maybe he might make the team.
- My friend and I were having fun until he brought up a brilliant idea. He told me to join the basketball team. "No way!" I exclaimed, "I don't even like playing sports." "But you're good at it, c'mon man you should join," he said. I thought about it for a couple of seconds and I decided that I will join. "Great choice Ben! I'll tell the coach about your decision"
- Resolution
- Please make it to the team.
- When is he gonna call my name.
- At practice, our coach told us all that if we do good, we get a position for the starting team. "I'm nervous dude," I told my friend "what if I don't make it, what if I make a joke out of myself." "You'll be fine, I believe in you," said my friend. As we were doing our drills I saw Jerry, the school menace. "Might as well leave since you know I'll make the team," he said.
- Shut up menace!
- I gave it my 100% and put full effort into trying to make it to the team. Jerry was also putting in his effort, "you already know you're not making it." he said. I just ignored him and kept on trying. "Okay everyone, tryouts are over, come back tomorrow to see who made it."
- It was the next day, suspension filled the air, everyone looked nervous. "If I don't make it it isn't the end of the world," I thought to myself. "There will be 10 people who will make it, the first person, Tyrone, good job buddy. The next person, William," the coach kept calling names until it was the last one. "and our last player, Ben." "LET'S GO" I exclaimed. Jerry looked sour, "I was supposed to be in the team!" At the end of the day, I was able to join the basketball team and fulfill my goal.
