  • Elesin stating how he there is “nothing” that will hold him back from completing his responsibilities of keeping “his friend and master company” after death to Iyaloja(Soyinka 11).
  • Elesin describes how his desire for the young woman should be viewed as a “bed of honor” that he is obligated to rather than a form of “pleasure” that he wants (Soyinka 16).
  • Elesin recognizes his inherent flaw, where egotistical character development and placement of personal desires first led to his Olunde's death.
  • The upcoming rulers of the Incan empire created new societal aspects ,such as patriarchy and the ownership of natives, that angered Pachacamac and Pachamama.
  • Due to their anger, Pachacamac and Pachamama paved way for a new civilization, called Spain, to conquer and end the Incan empire by providing them with superior technology and war strategies.
  • Due to their previous treatment, the gods proceeded to give the subjects of the Incan empire the same treatment. Moreover, these societal aspects made way into other civilizations, becoming a curse that infected all humans.
