- It's not just that so many of the kids I work with got their start at this high achieving company through nepotism. It's how ignorant they are. It's how much they despise our transgender colleague and treat her like a third class citizen. It's how I know - deep down - all these Morgan Wallen loving country club Massachusetts types want the status quo to stay the same. Where is their critical thinking? I thought Massachusetts had the best education system in the nation. All these sales workers are clueless and racist.
- I've always wanted to be a school teacher. I'm clearly not going to cut it in sales. Maybe I'll have the chance to educate the next kids before they become the lifeless, queer-hating golf and lacrosse bros they are today.

- But can I really go back and teach High School? I was bullied so much I still have flashbacks. A high school bully of mine went to my college and did some pretty heinous things to me, even into adult life. That's part of why I stayed out of education for so long.

- Hey I know we've never spoken but I went to high school with you and have been spreading rumors about your sexuality and intelligence to everyone I've met for the last 6 years. I just wanted to confront you at your lowest and finally say to your face fuck you for being an individual.
- I'm a republican and an accountant but I was accepted to an elite college so I feel justified in my self-affirming worldview and the fact that you were the king of the outcasts in high school college rubs me the wrong way. Your creative spirit didn't fit in at MY elite school.

- But then again, I've always wanted to be a teacher. Robin Williams. And I've worked through all that shit. I'm confident in myself now (s/o therapy). And there are kids out there like me - outcast in different ways - who could use a beacon of hope. And, clearly, kids need to be taught the right version of history. Not the TRUMP one.

- I'm going to assign you books that make you understand how joyful an experience teaching should be, books that help you realize (finally!) how simple postmodernism really is and articles that will really help you think about how you're supposed to teach writing to students so they get it.

- PPS has a mandate to teach the right way with diversity in mind. A majority of our student body is Black and the achievement outcomes between our Black and white students are large. We're doing all we can to disrupt that gap.
- I'm so glad everything I am being taught in class is applicable at my placement. This is great! I can really make an impact

- This teaching thing isn't easy. It's a ton of work. There's so much to learn and you can always make a better lesson. I'm just taking it one day at a time and making sure I'm referencing all the readings I've been fortunate enough to engage with. I'm a work in process but thankfully it's going as smooth as it possibly could for a newbie.

- Pink Floyd famously sung - "Teachers! Leave those kids alone". But I'm trying to teach in a way where the kids don't want to be left alone. They want to be challenged and like coming to school.That's the end goal. I'm getting there.

- Gen Z is amazing but it sucks we don't know who Tom Waits is!
- Group work is the key to productivity and engagement at your young age. Let's make sure I'm not lecturing and you always have something engaging to work on.
- Even though we talk a whole lot during class and you can't always tell if it's productive talk, the product of our group work is always very high and it's clear that your method of teaching is reaching us.
