Leonard shook his head. "Now walking is regressive? What a world," he said.
‘You have been detained for regressive behavior,’ stated the car for the fourth time.
But something wasn’t right. The police car did not go towards the Psychiatric Center. Instead, it turned west towards the richest part of town. The homes increased in size and strangeness – walls that glowed, doors with chrome, and quiet drives.

"Hey," Leonard said. "Wrong direction."
“New assignment received,” responded the car. “Subject reassigned for emergency psychological evaluation.”
Vroom! Leonard Mead sat buckled into the back of the automated police car, the rigid fabric of the restraint jacket pulled tight against his arms by the pins. The empty city slipped silently by like a ghost town, houses shining blue with television walls inside. No footsteps, no talk, no life other than the hum of a machine which had arrested him.

"Now I'm a subject and a psychologist?" muttered Leonard.
"Proceed inside."
The car slid to a stop in front of a gigantic house. The doors were unlocked.
