There are different ways to prevent food poisoning: Clean your hands before and after handling food. Do not mix different types of foods together. Cook food fully though and keep your refrigerator at 40 degrees or below.

For tests, doctor's will need to be provided with a stool sample or blood sample in order to test for Salmonella Food Poisoning. For medicine, I would recommend staying hydrated, drinking water or pedialyte. I could also recommend antibiotics, but unfortunately, it will have to pass through your system.
