Perseus uses his sword and shield to behead Medusa successfully. He uses the reflective shield to see where he's going while Athena helps him get the right aim. He awakens the other Gorgans who were furious but uses his cap of invisibility to get away safely, completing his quest.
Confronting the Father

Perseus had Medusa's head in his wallet when returning to the Nymphs to dance. When he  returns he sees a gorgeous home by the name of Andromeda who he automatically fell in love with. He then gets her head in marriage.
On the way back to the island, Perseus and Andromeda come across a festival.  Perseus decides to participate in the discus contest since he was a strong and fit man and thought he could win. Perseus threw the discus very far and very fast. The discus hit someone causing a tragic death. That person was Perseus's grandfather.
During his journey Perseus realized that the king was trying to get rid of him, so when he returned to the Palace on the day of the wedding he showed the king Medusa's head which turns him and everyone else into stone saving his mother.
