  • Certificate of Identification must be in English or accompanied by English Translation by approved Government Official and must include name, title, official rank, reason of travel, age, height and any physical identifications of the person

  • Any altercation with a certificate will be invalid and guilty of a misdemeanor. Fined $1,000 and jailed no more than 5 years term. Identification must match ledger on vessel. Any person smuggling a Chinese Laborer is subjected to the same punishment

  • Must have proper documentation if entering the USA after August 6,1882 any Captain on any vessel that carries an Chinese Laborer from any port of the world will be guilty of a misdemeanor and fined $500 per Chinese Laborer up to 1 year of jail time
  • Chinese government officials and servants on government business do not apply to the treaty rules
