Health: Decision-Making Comic Strip, Part 2

Storyboard Tekst

  • My conscience, an internal influence, is telling me smoking is wrong. Then again, my friend took a cigarette, so she must think it is okay. The driver, an external influence, obviously wants me to smoke and will probably pressure me to do so. But my parents would be so mad if I did. And I do not want to get sick from a cigarette or become addicted. I value my health. However, I also do not want to cause a conflict with the driver.
  • I think I can definitely rule out my option to smoke. Also, I do not think ignoring the driver will help. I think the healthiest decision for me is to tell the driver no, then speak to my friends and leave the car. I will not compromise my health by smoking, and I have to get out of this situation.
  • Hey, do you want one of my cigarettes or not? Just take one, it's no big deal.
  • So, are you ready? Come on, what's it going to be?
  • Come on, it's totally fine!
  • No thank you. I do not want a cigarette.
  • What? Why not, are you crazy?
  • Tobacco causes the deaths of around 430,000 Americans every year. Also, there are 12 substances in cigarettes that can cause cancer. Plus, cigarettes include ingredients also found in car exhaust, batteries, wax from candles, nail polish remover, gasoline, and poison. I said no.
  • Hey guys, I'm back!
  • I'm going home now. Enjoy the movie.
  • I'm proud of myself. I think I made a good decision. I was able to get out of the situation and avoid smoking.
