- "I wonder how the preparations are going."
- Today is the day of our corroboree. We are all very excited, and need to prepare for the ceremony. My job is to make sure that everything goes to plan, so I need to check on everyone and see how everything is going.
- The first person I will check on is my friend, Yindi. She is in charge of the face and body painting. Face painting is a very important part of our culture. It shows our tribe, our social group/rank and our ancestry.
- The second person I will check on is my parents. They are in charge of teaching the traditional dances to the children of our tribe. Dance is an important part of our culture and ceremonies because it tells the story of our ancestors and our lives.
- The third person I will check on is my cousin, Jarrah. He is in charge of costumes. In our Corroborees we wear special costumes that represent our spirituality and connections with the land.
- The fourth person I will check on is my auntie. She is in charge of the dreamtime stories that will be told at the ceremony. We use stories to tell our history to the younger generations.
- The last person I will check on is my brother, Waru. He is in charge of the songs and music. We use traditional instruments, such as a didgeridoo to make music at our Corroborees. The music we play at Corroborees is traditional and highlights our history.
