- Queen Maya was travelling to her family home in Devadaha where she planned to give birth. Along her way she unexpectedly went into labour in the Lumbini Garden.

- Siddhartha Gautama was born. He immediatly took seven steps, lotus flowers bloomed beneath his feet following each one. This decleared that it would be his final birth. His mother sadly passed away seven days later.
- After years of living in poverty he felt defeated. He vowed to sit under a bodhi tree until he was given the answers to his questions. During this meditation he became enlightened. He wrote down his truths and Buddism was developed.

- For the first twenty-nine years of his life, Siddhartha's father sheltered him from unpleasant reality. Siddhartha was unaware of human suffering and only knew the joys of his lavish life. In his father's eyes Siddhartha needed to focus on the duties he will inherit when he becomes king.
- After achieving enlightenment the Buddha continued as a religious teacher. He held sermons and spoke the truth of Buddhism. The Buddha aided others in finding enlightenment.

- Siddhartha became curious about life outside the palace. He went on a chariot ride outside the grounds of his kingdom. During his outings he saw the four sights; an old man, a sick man, a corpse, and a meditating ascetic. This deeply upset him and his chariotteer, Chandaka,explained to him the nature of aging, illness, death, and the ascetic man.
- After decating his life to Buddhism the Buddha passed away at the age of eighty and achieved nirvana.

- Aging is a natural, time-related process involving the deterioration of physical and mental health.
