- To think that Caesar bears such rebel blood...Thy brother by decree is banishèd.
- Most high, most mighty, and most puissant Caesar,Metellus Cimber throws before thy seatAn humble heart—
- Ethos
- I spurn thee like a cur out of my way.Know, Caesar doth not wrong, nor without cause.
- I kiss thy hand, but not in flattery, Caesar, Desiring thee that Publius Cimber may Have an immediate freedom of repeal.
- Pathos
- Unshaked of motion...That I was constant Cimber should be banished,And constant do remain to keep him so.
- Pardon him, Caesar, pardon him. I fall to your feet to beg you to restore Publius Cimber to citizenship.
- oh Caesar....
- Caesar is telling Metellus that he has no real reason to release his brother from banishment and that it's not logical to do so, Caesar tells him that Metellus has brought him no real proof to lift the banishment.
- Caesar is giving himself a lot of credit, he tells Brutus that he could do no wrong!
- Caesar is telling Cassius, Brutus, and Metellus, that he doesn't regret his actions and thinks that Cimber should keep his banishment. But Cassius and Brutus are trying to appeal to his sense of emotion and are begging him to lift the banishment.
