Hello father I wanted to give my pet a certain amount of food but how do I know how much to give him because if I give him too much food he can get a stomach ache and if I give him less food he can pass out.
Interesting there is this new invention going around called math. It lets you put numbers together and count items and objects and numbers. For instance right now you want to know how much food your giving to your pet, if you count each vegetable you get your amount. Like you have 3 carrots and 2 wheat.
I get it now so if I have 3 carrots and 2 wheat, if I put them together i'll know that Im feeding my pet 5 items of food in total. That was really helpful!

Great question! Numbers start at zero. Zero has no value and is only used to start a sequence of numbers. There is no end to numbers, numbers are infinite and can go on forever. Numbers hold a place value like each carrot has a value of 1 because there is one carrot!
