- I... its your husband. I'm so sorry
- Josephine tells Louise the new about the accident her husband was in.
- Glide: 2
- I need to be alone.
- Louise tries to make sense of it while her sister tries to comfort her. Then decides she needs to be alone and enters the room by herself.
- Glide: 3
- Free! Body and soul free!
- Alone in the room, Louise begins to imagine her life without her husband. The thought brings her excitement and she brings to whisper "free" to herself.
- Glide: 4
- Go away. I am not making myself ill.
- Louise, open the door! I beg; open the door--you will make yourself ill. What are you doing, Louise? For heaven's sake open the door.
- Worried about her sister, Josephine protests to be let inside the room. She thinks her sister may be losing it but Louise reassures her that she is just fine.
- Glide: 5
- They walk down the stairs together, Louise seems to be okay for someone who's just learned news of their dead spouse.
- Glide: 6
- WTFFF...
- They were all surprised to see Brently Mallard, Louise's husband, walk through the door unscathed and very much alive.
