Climax
Finally....Job well done!
The narrator becomes troubled when he takes a look at the old man's eyes. "Whenever it fell upon me, my blood ran cold". That's when he decides that killing the old man will resolve the way his eye makes him feel.
Falling Action
Let me show you around the House.
The narrator decides that he will sneak into the old man's room for several nights to observe him. "And every night, about midnight, I turned the latch of his door and opened it --oh so gently! "
Resolution
The narrator had become too vexed about the vulture-like eye of the old man, and had made the quick decision to end the life of the old man to rid himself of the "evil" eye for good. "He was stone dead. His eye would trouble me no more", was his final statement after committing the homicide.
As the next door neighbor had become too vexed after hearing a loud shriek coming from the old man's estate, she quickly called the police so they can search the premises. After the Narrator had been greeted by three police officers upon his estate, he generously welcomed them into his premises confidential that he would make it out. "I smiled, --for what I had to fear? I bade the gentlemen welcome".
For bearing the guilt of executing the old man not out of spite, but of the intent to liberate himself from the vexation the vulture-like of the old man had put him through. He had admitted his wrong doing to the police officers and revealed to them the dismembered cadaver of the old man underneath the floorboarding. "Villains! dissemble no more! I admit the deed!".
