Once upon a time, there lived 2 brothers - Ichiro and Chiro. They both were hard-working and kind. They worked all day in their field,
As the sun sets, their old mother, Sumi, calls them for dinner. They all had a happy life!
My dears, tomorrow I will be 70 years old. So you have to take me to the Mountain-of-No-Return
How can we, when you are so happy, able and wise?
Mother ,we can't leave you
However, as days pass, they grew more sombre and quiet and watched the window at the distant snow-covered mountains.
My last mean is cooked... This is my last day with my sons...
This mountain was nicknamed "The -Mountain-of-No-Return". The Emperor of the Land had made a law that all elders when reached age 70, have to go to this mountain and die due to the harsh snow. The Emperor thought that this would reduce the burden to the society and make the people more productive. But the law forgot that elders would share their wisdom and experiences they had gained over the years to their children
But none could fight the rule of the land...
So the next day, Sumi prepared for her last day in her lovely home...
