Stage 1: Page
You will learn to ride a horse, use a sword, sing and dance.You will have manners put upon you, you will help my wife the lady of the castle. You will serve me and my wife at the high table. Lords + Ladies pages served only.
My name is Louis. I am 7. I want to be a knight but first I have to be a page until I'm fourteen.

Stage 2: Squire
Now that you're fourteen, you are my Squire.
I will learn how to fight on horseback. I accompany my lord into battle . I look after the lord's horse, weapons, help the lord dress for battle and tournaments.

Stage 3: Knight
I will spend the night before the ceremony in the chapel praying. Then dressed in white robe and full armour, he took part in the ceremony of dubbing in the morning.
Now you are 21 years old you will be eligible to become a knight.
The lord gave the knight a manor to manage. When a knight wasn't fighting in real wars and battles , the knight would often take part in battles. These featured mock battles, they fought with wooden weapons and jousting matches, where two knights on horses rode straight at each other and both knights tried to knock his rival off his horse with a lance.
He swore the oath of chivalry ( to stay loyal, protect the poor and weak and be brave in battle). The lord touched him on the shoulders with a sword and told him " arise, Sir knight".
