  • This policy was a strategy first laid off by George F. Kennan in 1947, The policy stated that communism, needs to be contained and isolated. If not, communism would spread to neighboring countries.

  • This speech was delivered by former Prime Minister Winston Churchill, on March 5, 1946. In his speech he stressed the importance of the United States, and Britain to get along. As well as act as the guardians of peace and stability against the commission of the Soviet Union.

  • President Harry S. Truman established with this doctrine that the U.S. would provide economic, political, and military assistance to all democratic nations that were under threat from external and internal authoritarian forces.

  • This was a plan designed to rehabilitate the economies of 17 Western and Southern European countries in order to create stable conditions where democratic institutions could survive in the aftermath of WW2
  • UNDER CONSTRUCTION 
  • The soviet forces had blocked and cut off all resources to and from Berlin. The U.S. and United Kingdom responded by airlifting food, fuel, water and plenty of other resources, to Berlin from allied air bases in western Germany.
  • The North Atlantic Treaty Organization was created in 1949 created by the United States, Canada and several Western European nations to provide collective security against the Soviet Union.
