- THE MONKEY'S PAW
- EXPOSITION
- The Monkey's Paw can bring very bad consequences...
- RISING ACTION
- I wonder what this man is doing, he's been pacing for awhile.
- Be careful how you wish for things, they just might have consequences.
- CLIMAX
- The White's are all sitting at home enjoying their evening. Mr. White and Herbert are playing chess. A soldier arrives. He tells them about the Monkey's Paw and gives it to Mr.White.
- FALLING ACTION
- Oh my goodness! I just had a wonderful idea! Let's use the monkey's paw and wish for him back to life.
- Mr. White decides to wish for 200 pounds. They wait all night and all morning but nothing happens. Young Herbert leaves for the day still hopeful. The Whites see a strange man pacing outside.
- RESOLUTION
- The man tells them that their son is dead. He died in machine accident. The man tells him that the company is going to give the White family a 200 pound compensation.
- I regret to inform you that your son was in a machine accident. He's not in any pain though.
- They grieve their son for days. One night while Mr. and Mrs. White couldn't sleep, Mrs. White had the idea to use the Monkey's Paw to wish Herbert back to life. He comes back to life but as a mouse.
- It drives Mr. White crazy so he wishes for his son to be dead again. Everything clams down and Mr. White is very relieved.
- I wish my son was dead again!
