- Mrs. White: “That sounds scary, but also interesting.”
- Herbert: “I hope he brings an exciting story.”
- Morris: “This monkey’s paw can grant wishes, but they always come with consequences.”
- A man from Herbert’s workplace arrives with bad news.Herbert died in a factory accident.
- Mr. White wishes for money to pay off their house.The paw moves slightly, making Mr. White nervous.
- Factory Worker: “I’m sorry. There was an accident at work.”
- Herbert: “That felt strange. I don’t think this is a good idea.”
- Mr. White: “I wish for a large amount of money.”
- Mrs. White: “No… this can’t be happening.”

- Loud knocking is heard at the door.Mrs. White believes it is Herbert.
- Mrs. White begs her husband to wish their son back to life.Mr. White hesitates but agrees.
- Mrs. White: “Use the paw. Wish him back.”
- Mrs. White: “It’s him. I know it’s my son.”
- Mr. White: “Something is wrong. This is not how it should be.”
- Mrs. White opens the door and finds no one there.The family is left in silence and sadness.
- Mr. White: “I’m afraid of what might happen, but I will do it.”
- Mr. White realizes the danger.He makes the third wish to undo the second one.
- Mr.White: "I wish to undo my second wish!"
- Mrs. White: “There’s nothing here…”
- Mr. White: “Some things are not meant to be changed.”
