Odysseus and his men were going back home to Ithica. When They heard the sound of sheep. When they came upon an iland with a cave, they were trying to decide if they wanted to go in or not. Odysseus was trying to reason with his men to not go in. Polites and Eurylochus are trying to get to go in. At the end of the convection, they went in.
When they went into the cave there were cheese and milk. Odysseus tried to warn his men, but they did not listen. Polyphemus came into the cave and ragged with rage. Polites and Eurylochus were very scared but Odysseus had a plan. He and his men were going to get out.
Odysseus blinded Polyphemus the cyclops. He is the son of Posidon. Now Poseidon is very angry at Odysseus and tries his hardest to stop Odysseus from getting home. His pride got the best of him and he tell the cyclops his name. Now he is in lots of trouble.
