- The British are coming. One if by land, two if by sea. In Medford, I awaked the Captain of the Minute Men; after that, I alarmed almost every house, till I got to Lexington.
- The American Revolution is what Kicked all of this off. It was a battle between the colonist and the government.

- The tea act was placed to gain the money they lost from the American Revolution. The act enraged the Americans and caused the Boston Tea Party.

- On this night in 1775, Paul Revere was instructed by the Sons of Liberty to ride to Lexington, Mass., to warn Samuel Adams and John Hancock thatBritish troops were marching to arrest them.

- The Boston Tea Party was a political protest that occurred on December 16, 1773, at Griffin's Wharf in Boston, Massachusetts.American colonists, frustrated and angry at Britain for imposing “taxation without representation,” dumped 342 chests of tea, imported by theBritish East India Companyinto the harbor.
- Benjamin Franklin and George Washington arriving at Independence Hall to sigh the Declaration of Independence.
- The Declaration of Independence was approved by theContinental Congresson July 4, 1776. The document announced the separation of 13 North American British colonies from Great Britain. It was the last of a series of steps that led the colonies to final separation from Great Britain.
