Hello, my name is King Henry VIII and I am a significant figure in the English Reformation. I was born on the 28th of June 1491 in London.
I am the second born son to King Henry VII and Elizabeth of York. Unfortunately, in 1502 my older brother Arthurpassed away only at the age of 15 years old. That meant at the age of 10 I am heir to the throne. Then a few years later my father Henry VII died on the 21st of April 1509 and at 17 years old, I was crowned king.

You cant even give me a son, you're useless. We need a divorce immediately!
No, what about our beautiful daughter.
At the young age of 17 Henry married his brother’s widow Catherine of Aragon. King Henry VIII wanted a son to carry on his legacy of becoming the next king. Overtime, Henry became dissatisfied with his wife Catherine’s ability to produce a male heir to the throne. In 1525, he met a lady-in-waiting in his court, Anne Boleyn and hoped to marry her to increase his chances of having a son.

You are not allowed a divorce,it's the church' rules.
Please No. Fine then i am leaving and creating my own church.
However, the Catholic Church did not believe in divorce although the pope had the power to make exceptions when they were warranted. When Pope Clement VII refused Henry’s request, it made him furious, so he worked with Parliament to break England away from the Catholic Church and create the Church of England with him being the supreme religious authority. This church is also referred to as the Anglican Church.

We did it!!!
Yay!
The Anglican Church was now headed by Henry VIII and he issued himself the divorce he wanted. This split ultimately lead to conflict within England as some argued for the need to cleanse the Anglican Church of all Catholic practices.

King Henry VIII got given many warnings from the Pope for getting a divorce which was his choice and to get remarried to Anne. Pope Clement VII issued a Papal Bull, threatening him with excommunication from the church.

Pope Paul III
The Councilof Trent was held between 1545 and 1563 in the city of Trent (Trento) in northern Italy. It was the 19th ecumenical council of the Catholic Church, which was led by Pope Paul III. This was prompted by the Protestant Reformation. The council wrote the wrongs because the people were not following the mission of Jesus and social justice. This stopped many of the notorious abuses and introduced disciplinary reforms affecting the sale of indulgences.
