HI! My name is Isabella and I wanted to talk about the difference between the perception of wisdom in an authouritative sense versus in a spiritual or philosophical sense. I wanted to be portrayed as cerberus in this comic, which has no bearing on the actual content - so please disregard my appearance. The portrayals of the characters displayed may not directly correlate with their story's settings, but I want to distinguish them and focus on the teachings.

Here we find ourselves in the underworld. Odysseus speaks to the ghost of Achilles about his success while he lived.
Glide: 3
Hey man. You really shouldn't be so upset that you're dead considering you were so successful!
Listen bro, I really don't care about all that - we all end up in the same place.
...on an unrelated note... I really hope my son is successful!
Glide: 4
Achilles understands that success and power don't "save" people from their final destination. However, he is still victim to the "wisdom as power" mindset of humanity. Unknowingly, he is at war with himself in what wisdom really is.
Glide: 5
Here we find ourselves at the castle of Creon, who is under societal pressure to abide by political versus religious duty.
Glide: 6
I will not bury your traitorous brother. I know that by not burying him I am denying him religious respect, but I have to maintain my appearance as a strict and cold leader of Thebes. Also I hate women and would never take orders from one.
You are a monster. No matter what my brother did, he still deserves to be treated with basic human respect.
Glide: 7
Because I refused to seek moral and divinely given wisdom instead of my own selfish decisions for my own glory, my whole family is dead because of me!
Also...maybe women are people too? I'll reflect on that after I stop grieving....
Glide: 8
Creon's selfishness as a denial of wisdom is within all of us. Many of us don't have an outside force telling us to choose good instead of evil, but many times even if we do, we don't listen to them just as Creon didn't. Of course, usually we don't end up with a dead family, but selfishness and evil will catch up to everyone - if not in this life, then the next.

Our three authours of Asian wisdom will not be depicted in a story, but speaking of their own beliefs in a conversation together.

I'm Zhuangzi.
I'm Confucius/Konzi.
I'm Mozi.

Listen guys. I think that being a gentleman is far deeper than being born in a certain class. I think being a gentleman means someone is dedicated to tradition and treats everyone as an honoured guest despite their status.
Hm yeah that's interesting man. I disagree with your view on tradition though. I don't think we can properly tend to all people while relying on tradition. How can we say that we treat all people how we would want to be treated when a lot of tradition doesn't support that?
Glide: 12
Well without tradition, we don't have social harmony. Without social harmony, how can we find wisdom? Tradition cultivates benevolence and knowledge through ritual and learning.
How can you objectively say that tradition results in benevolence? We have to follow Heaven, which determines our actions as righteous or unrighteous based on the outcome. Heaven promotes love of everyone, how can you oppose that? Wisdom can only come from Heaven, and Heaven promotes universal love, so how can universal love not result in wisdom?
Glide: 13
Counterpoint to both of you: what if we focus on the natural flow of the universe instead of trying to change everything? Rules and social duties hinder humans from being their individual selves. We shouldn't be expected to act a certain way or treat people in an altruistic way if it doesn't align with ourselves. There is no objective way to be good, so why try to put a label on it? The Dao moves freely, so must we! Our Creator made us well, I don't see why we should try to change how we were made. Wisdom isn't obtained through some universal action since that's impossible. We individually gain wisdom through our individualism.
Glide: 14
These three philosophers may have had disagreements on how one obtains wisdom, but they align in a greater way. Kongzi believed that being a gentleman wasn't about social classes, but rather about being a benevolent person. Wisdom is obtained through reflection, imitation, and experience (as taught by tradition). Mozi believed that tradition hindered the Way of Heaven, which is to be righteous to all people. Wisdom is not some abstract concept, but rather the awareness of Heaven and the mandate of universal love. Zhuangzi believed in complete individualism and rejected any objective teachings about how one must act. Wisdom is about unlearning conventional ideas of knowledge and truth and focusing on the Dao - the fundamental principle of the world which is about "going with the flow" and non-action.
Despite having such stark disagreements, these three men did not promote the idea of wisdom as a violent or powerful concept. In their own ways, the three of them spoke of wisdom as a peaceful and divine concept.

Now we find ourselves on the topic of Biblical wisdom: especially in Proverbs, Ecclesiastes, and Job. I will depict the three authours/main characters speaking directly to you, reader, as they elaborate on the former person's points.
Glide: 16
Hello! I'm the authour of the book of Proverbs. I believe wisdom comes from God, but wisdom takes on a personified form in which she calls out for people to accept her teachings. The first step in acquiring wisdom is being wise enough to search for her. As God abundantly gives to those who ask, so he also gives wisdom to those who seek it.
Glide: 17
Hi, I'm the authour of the book of Ecclesiastes and I am the Preacher. Yes I am an anthropomorphic mouse in a sweater and no I do not want to talk about it.
Honestly, this life sucks. I tend to stick with my daily mantra: "Vanity of vanities, all is vanity!" Basically, we are not God. We can never be God. Therefore, it is pointless to try and act as God and pretend that most of our desires are not due to our own vanity and selfishness. We can only gain wisdom from God, as my colleague mentioned, and trying to gain wisdom with the idea that we are the highest form of being is not only futile, but it is vanity! We will be judged for all our vanities by the only one who is qualified to do so.
Glide: 18
I'm Job, from the book of Job. You probably expected me to be some weird creature right? Sike, I'm just some guy.
I can attest that wisdom is only found in submitting to God. I did literally everything right and then I lost all my possessions, my ten kids died in the same day, I was covered in painful boils, and then my three friends told me I must be really sinful if I'm going through all this which honestly made it so much worse. As humans, we are profoundly limited in our understanding of what God is doing and why. We can search for a physical thing called wisdom in the places where we find wealth, such as in caves or valleys, but we won't find it. These physical possessions are pointless (or vanity, as some might say). God is the only way we can obtain wisdom, and to do so we need to accept that God is greater than us.
Glide: 19
These three people do not disagree with each other, but they have different perspectives on the same idea: that wisdom can only come from God. In each of their books, wisdom is a moral and spiritual understanding that opens the door for us to act in the way that God desires, which is as close to his nature as possible. Material possessions and mortal life don't serve a real purpose (aside from being vanity) without God. Wisdom from God is about focusing on the true, good, and beautiful - not about raising one's status or reputation.
Glide: 20
Basically, these three sources of wisdom may have vastly differing ideas of the divine and how one should live their life, but they align in that wisdom is not something that can be conjured by solely human understanding nor is it something that glorifies the self over others. Even without believing in a "god," when one submits to a purpose greater than themselves, that alone is a path to wisdom. A life of self-serving and success does not save us from death, does not go along with the Dao, and is simply vanity.
