Eugene is protesting to chop his neighbour's tree down, as it's covering his driveway. Dominic refused to chop the tree down, as it belongs to his property.This expresses the conflict with each other in this scene.

Both Eugene and Dominic are having a conversation, contemplating about if the tree should be chopped down. Dominic has clearly stated that, as long as thescraps are cleaned up you may chop the tree down. Eugene agrees with Dominic'soffer. This scene expresses how both people are establishing a covenant with eachother, as Dominic is allowing Eugene to cut it down, but as long as he cleans up andEugene on the other hand wants for the tree to be chopped down, expressing their relationship.
