In this scene there is a government official influencing the public to enlist into the war. Off to the side is a 21 year old man named Chris who has mixed emotions about going to war unlike the crowd.
Jack are you sure you don't want to help out? Everyone will call you a coward.
I guess it would be bad if I didn't go huh?
Chris has now decided he wants to help but he doesn't want to do it alone and he hates to break the news to his family. Chris still is unsure of what to do.
Jack's been shot! I need a medic as soon as possible!
Chris's family is uneasy about Chris making this decision but they will support him either way since he is a good healthy candidate for the war.
I can't believe I was really influenced into that and influenced Jack, now he is gone.
Due to peer pressure, Jack has agreed to go with Chris and enlist themselves in war.
Chris has now just gone through one of the most traumatic parts of his experience. He has officially lost his best friend.
Jack has come to the conclusion that all the advertising going on is false and that not everyone feels like a "hero" after. He realizes how traumatic it was and possibly not worth losing his best friend.
