- I woke up to the sound of birds, I looked around to see my siblings asleep, but there was no sign of my mother. My brother River then woke up, “Nalu, where’s mom?” He said, “I don’t know, I woke up and didn’t find her” I replied, “weird” River added “she never leaves when we’re asleep”. My little sister Tora always wakes up late, she’s the smallest between us, the cutest too! Tora then woke up, “good morning, where’s mom?” She said. “We don’t know” River said, “maybe she went to find some food” I added. “I hope she did, I’m starving!” said River. River is hungry all the time! He’s younger than me but always tries to act like he’s the oldest between us. He’s very stubborn and lazy, but he’s also strong and really fast. River gets jealous of me a lot, since I’m the first one between us to successfully hunt. Im also taller than him and a bit stronger, and my mom says that I’m very responsible and she trusts me a lot, and that’s what River is mostly jealous of. Tora never gets jealous of anyone, she just sleeps, eats, plays, and sits like a princess making everyone look at her because of how cute she is! I always take care of her and she see’s me as her second mother. My siblings and I are all the same age; one years old, but our sizes make us look different in age. My mother is a very beautiful tiger, she’s known as the strongest female tiger in the rainforest! It’s unusual for female tigers to be stronger than male tigers where I live, but the tigers here are getting less and less every year. My uncle Tony died last month, he was killed by a human! And his cubs lost their home and couldn’t survive alone. I also lost my father last year, one day he just left and never came back. I can still remember his face a little bit though, he had golden-brown eyes and dark orange fur with very narrow black stripes. “Look it’s mom!” Tora shouted as she ran towards our mother. “Mom where were you?!” River said, “I went to find some food, I know you get hungry when you wake up” mom said. “Yay!” River shouted, “Thank you mom” I added, “you’re welcome Nalu, make sure to eat well because we’re going on an adventure today” mom replied. “What? Adventure?” Tora said, “Yes! Aren’t you excited?” I replied, “I’m actually a little scared” She said, “I don’t like going on adventures, I like staying at home”. “Don’t be scared Tora, we’re with you” mom said, “Yeah! We’ll have so much fun!” River added, “but can you stop talking I’m trying to eat, the food is so good!”, “Okay River” I replied.
- We ate some food and kept the leftovers for any other animal who wants it, “so, where are we going mom?” River asked, “anywhere you’d like” mom answered. “Can I choose?!” I shouted, “no mom let me choose!” Tora said. “Im the one who asked so I’m going to choose” River said, “That’s enough, no one will choose” mom said, “Mom!” Me and my siblings shouted at once. “Fine, whoever finds a mango first will choose where we’re going” my mom said. Luckily, I know this island better than my siblings, and I know exactly where to find a mango. “There! It’s a mango!” Tora shouted as River started laughing, “mom look! Tora thinks that’s a mango!” River said while laughing. “Tora that’s a banana” I said, “how do I know what a mango is! I just know that it’s a fruit!” Tora replied, “Tora it’s the oval shaped yellowish-red fruit that you like” mom added, “the one with the huge seed inside?” Tora asked, “Yes! Now go find one!” I answered. “Oh…Okay!” she said. I ran to the mango tree and saw all the mango’s on it, I grabbed one and ran back to my mom as fast as I can. “Mom I found a mango!” I shouted, “can I choose where to go now?”. “Yes Nalu, you can” my mom replied. I decided to go somewhere we can swim in, near the ocean. “That’s a good choice Nalu! I love swimming!” River said, “I wanted to choose something we all like” I said, “That’s so nice of you Nalu! Thank you!” Tora added, “Anytime!” I replied. We started swimming and playing, and Tora discovered a lot of new things! like what a coconut is, and how good it tastes! She also learned how to swim in deep water
- 20 minutes later we woke up to the sound of a loud gunshot! Me and my siblings were extremely terrified. “Nalu! What’s that?!” Tora shouted, “I think it’s a gunshot!!” River shouted back, “don’t worry! Everything’s going to bo okay!” I said. We quickly ran back to our little house, ‘maybe mom’s there?’ I thought to myself, our house was ruined! “What happened here?” River said, “look! It’s a human’s footprint!” Tora shouted, and once she said that we ran away as fast as we can. I hid behind a bush and started spying on the human that had a gun with him, his gun was huge! “Isn’t that the human that killed uncle Tony?” River whispered, “I think he is” I whispered back, that human had a long beard, and wore a beige shirt with brown pants and had a big black bag. He built himself a shed near our house, that’s why it was ruined… Tora was so scared so she hid behind us. “Is that mom?” River said, “wait… that’s her!” I said, “why is he carrying her into there?!” River added, “and why is there red stuff coming out of her?!!”. “That’s blood… And, I don’t know!” I replied as we started crying, Tora was freaking out, and she was crying so much. “Did that human kill our mother?” Tora asked, “yes…I think so” I replied. We hugged each other knowing that we have no one else, or… we thought we didn’t. ‘I’ll never let anyone hurt my siblings’ I thou to myself. “That’s exactly what happened to uncle Tony and his cubs!” Tora said, “I don’t want to die!” She added, “You wont die!” I shouted, “No one will die if we all stay together!” River added, “Tora don’t worry, I’ll never leave you or let any one hurt you! Both of you” I said. We gave Tora a hug, “we need to stay strong!” I said to motivate my siblings. “Okay! Let’s do this!” River added, we went to find some food, we were so hungry, so we ate some fruits as a little snack. We then found a lake full of fish, and fish is the easiest for me and my siblings to catch. “I got a fish!” Tora shouted, “Good! Eat it! Each one of you catch their own fish and eats it” I replied, “you can eat as much as you want” I added. “Okay! My siblings said at once, we all got a lot of fishes and ate. When we finished we went to find a safe place to live in, but we didn’t find any. We kept looking and looking, it was getting dark, and we were hungry.
