- In a dark future, monsters known as Pipers have taken over. The Pipers eat all modern tech, such as robots and computers. Strata, the Protagonist, Goes on a supply run to try to salvage tech. There, she finds a mysterious robot horse that she takes.
- They are riding the robot horse through a lab they found it in, then the Pipers find them and attack! They barely escape the lab and into the woods. They try to get back home with tons of Pipers on their tail.
- They are now in the woods running from pipers, where they meet someone willing to help them get back home. On their way, they meet a tribe wanting to imprison them. But, the tribe soon brings them to go back home in return for an alpaca.
- On their way home, a horde of Piper's attack! They must fight for their lives in a big battle against the pipers. They are doing well until Strata and the horse gets taken away in a bubble from the Piper.
- Strata and her horse both float up into the mothership. There, the world eaters await them. The world eaters explain to them what they are doing. They eat knowledge. they want to eat the horse because it is considered a delicacy. So, they split the horse, and all take a bite. But, right as they do that, Strata commands the horse to stop and the horse moves in a position and blocks all three world eater's throats and chokes them all.
- The horse sacrificed himself to save humanity. Strata notice that the ship is collapsing. Strata has to get out of there. She finds a spaceship, which a robot saved can drive it. they safely come back to earth and so does all the metal. they are finally free of the Pipers!
