Howdy ya'll i'm old mcdonald, and i'm gonna tawk to ya'll bout all the things that we do here at the farm to keep our soil fresh and healthy for our plants to grow. One of the many proceses is called terracing, which is the process of shaping sloped land into step like structures to slow erosion. Also we use a method called plowing, which you may be familiar with. Look at some farms in your community and you may notice these things.

Greetings, I am Jimbob the scientist, and I am going to talk about why and how we preserve and monitor the soil
First off, I am going to demonstrate why soil is so important for us. Do you realize were both meat and plants come from.... Yes! -the soil. But how does meat? What do animals like cows and chickens eat-plants, which comes from soil-exactly.
As a scientist it is my job to track what is going on with the soil and it's layers. For example, I have to predict the eruption of volcanoes for the safety of the people who may live there. We also research how we can help the soil and how we can support the health of soil. Healthy soil is the difference between the scene on the right and the one on the left. So, moral of the story, help the soil help us!
