- Spencer’s dad pulls spencer out of class, and tells his teacher that they have a docters appointment. But he actually just wants to hang out with spencer. “It’s way too nice of a day to hang out in school,” he said. (Becker 269).
- After staying at a motel they decide to get some breakfast and keep driving. But on the way Spencer’s dad tells him to go inside and get some candy bars.He stuckhis hand out the window with a five-dollar bill in it. I tookthe money and went inside, (Becker 285).
- They got up in the stage and as soon as spencer started playing. He keep messing up the song and felt embrasasses and ashamed. The chords I formed wereone disaster after another.” (Becker 280).
- When Spencer comes back, he sees that his dad is not there and he looks in the distance his dad driving away.He thought that his dad was just joking but he didn’t come back for hours He was already gone. I could see the tailgate of the station wagonbouncing away from me down the street in the distance. I stood therewatching him go, thinking that any moment now he would turnaround and come back, (Becker 285).
- They decide to stop at a local bar in the town , the dad is talking to a guy and many others. Later, Spencer'sdad said that there were going to play onstage in the bar We’re going to sit in next set. What do you say?, (Becker 279).
- Spencer dad tells him that he is going to audition for a band,Montreal. He asks spencer if he wants to, come with him. Spencer agrees to go with him and says that he doesnt care ifhis mom say something. We wont tell he --we'll just leave a note saying you're with me. (Becker 271)
