- George Washington (matter in solid state)
- Hi, I am in a solid State which is one of the three basic states of matter. I am composed of tightly packed particles. I will retain my shape and my particles are not free to move around.
- Save the Forest - Melting to (matter in a liquid state)
- In an effort to save our wildlife and forest I travelled to a forest fire. The closer I got to the fire the faster I started to MELT. As the temperature rises I transform into a liquid. I will conform to any shape if i were in a container and my molecules in a liquid state move rapidly.
- Pushed up into the clouds through Evaporation(matter in a gas state)
- Gas is a state of matter that has no fixed shape or volume. The particles of gas move faster than those of liquid. you need a lot of energy required for a liquid to become a gas. The most common way to add energy is to add heat.
- Hello, My name is George Washington. I was the only President elected unanimously. I was known as "First in war, first in peace, and first in the hearts of his countryman. Follow me on my journey as I have special super powers.
- Ready to Condensate back to earth
- In order to condensate the air is cooled to its dew point or it becomes too saturated with water vapor that it can't hold it any longer.
- SURPRISE!!!! my super power is that I can transform into different states of matter to possibly help the earth. I started to melt into the form of a liquid to be sprayed on the fire to save the forest.
- You have been Diposed!!!
- Can you see me? The heat from the fire caused me to EVAPORATE into the form of gas. I now have a view high above the sky to see the damage the fire created. I don't like flying....so I am ready to come back to earth.
- Final stretch of Transpiration
- Finally, I get to cool down and come back to earth!! I fell back down in the form of water droplets from the sky. The air got chilly and it cooled down quickly which released me in the form of water...
- While dropping in the form of liquid is pleasant, sometimes during a thunderstorm water droplets reach above the freezing level in the atmosphere and I can go from water vapor to ice in the form of hail. Frozen droplets fall from the sky.
- Deposition is the process in which gas changes directly to a solid without going through a liquid state
- After we wiped out the fire, we start fresh with new growth. The new growth of plants takes in all the water at the roots. This is sucked up to the stem and the leaves. Some of the water is returned to the air by transpiration.
- Plants lose more than 90% of their water through Transpiration. The leaf or plant releases water vapor through transporation.
