- I want the Roman people to Experience a lot of peace now. The People shouldn't have to suffer countless of civil wars.
- After Augustus had defeated Antony and Cleopatra in31 BC there was an end to all of the countless civil wars which Rome experiencedfor centuries long. This made a start to the Pax Romana, which was a period inwhich the Empire experience a relative amount of peace. This period of peacewas over two hundred years as is was from 27 BC to 180 AD.
- Under the rule of Augustus, the Roman people thrived. This was becausethey didn’t have to worry about civil wars destroying them. This shows that thequality of daily life is very depended on who the ruler is as their decisioncan directly influence the people. Augustus was very good for his people as anemperor as he guaranteed them all peace.
- Augustushis politics can be compared to the politics found is most modern countries. Nowa days, there is always a very large emphasis on keeping peace. There are many organizationscreated with the pure purpose to keep peace for the world, like the UN or NATO.This is especially know present and all countries try to keep peace for theirpeople.
- Augustus passed away in 14AD. When he died he knew that his great empire was safe and still at peace. Hislast words before he died therefore were, “I found Rome of Clay; I leave it toyou of Marble.” He then added to his two friends listening, “Have I played the partwell? Then applaud me as I exit.”
- Shortly after he did this, the Roman senate declare the Octavian a God, just like they did with Julius Caesar.
