- To begin the steps to receiving your drivers license, you must go through a a Knowledge Test. In order to pass this, you must study for it. This requires you to take time and review the Learn To Drive Smart Textbook which will go over all the information that is needed for the test. Once you have reviewed the material, you can review it further by taking practice tests which will benefit you when taking the real test.
- In order to take the test, you'll need to book an appointment at an ICBC driver licensing office which is where you will take your test. A accepted ID is need along with a sign and witnessed consent from from a guardian if you take the test under 19. You will also need to bring yes for the test and your learners license. In most areas, the test is multiple choice. If you end up not passing the test, you'll have to wait 7 days before retaking it.
- In order to take the class 7 road test to get your N, it's required to drive a full year with a supervisor. It is recommended to take a drivers training course in order to enhance your driving. To get the fullest practice, it would be very useful to drive in different conditions whether it be raining, snowing or sunny or dark outside. This allows you to get the fullest understanding is driving and how to handle different conditions of driving.
- The full Class 7 Road Test will take upwards of 45 minutes and during this time, you will be taken on a route to test your driving skills and how well you understand the skills. What is being looked for, is whether you understand these driving skills while maintaining a calm and controlled manner. If you don't pass the first time, a retest can be done 14 days after. If you don't pass a second a time, you are able to do a retest after 30 days and 60 days after 3 or more tries on the test. A fee is required also every time when taking a test.
- In order to gain a full licence, you must have at least 2 years without any prohibitions. If you achieved 18 months without any at-fault crashes or tickets and taken an ICBC approved training course in the L stage, you might be able to take your course after 18 months.
- A wide of variety of skills is needed for the Class 5 test in order to gain a full license, though not all will be on it. You will also need to review hazardous awareness because it is likely that some might be pointed out during the test. Because you have been a driver for sometime now, that condition that you will be driving will be much more difficult than before and is important to show your examiner that you can safely and properly drive even in such conditions. It is also important to do a pre check of your car and make sure everything works so it limits anything wrong happening later. You will have the chance to check over the text with your examiner and if you don't pass a retest can be taken after 14 days.
