- Puberty Rollercoaster ~ Getting your period.This scenario is about a girl who is worried about getting her first period at school.

- 3. Lily, there's nothing to be worried about, getting your period is NORMAL.
- 1. So Lily, what exactly did you want to tell me about?
- In the library, the girls are addressing the issue.
- 2. I'm actually quite worried that I will get my period at school.
- 1. So, what even is a period?
- 3. That's ok!
- 4. A period is when your ovaries release an egg into the fallopian tubes, then the uterus. The uterus generates a sheet of blood around itself to allow the egg to settle.The egg then waits to be fertilised, and if it isn't, the uterus sheds the blood and the egg comes with it through the cervix, the vagina and it ends up as a splotch of blood on your underwear. On average, a period lasts for 7 days and has a 28 day cycle. But this varies for each girl.

- 2. - Not worrying about it and keeping a POSITIVE ATTITUDE. (Ignore what other people say about having your period, they don't matter!)-If it helps, talk to someone you trust about it! They are sure to help you!- Sleep well and stay hydrated.- keeping a healthy diet, and lots of exercise can help reduce period pain.- Buying pads/tampons or any period products and keeping them with you at school can help as well.
