- The problems South Africa struggled with transitioning to independence was political instability.
- Political stability in many African countries has enabled us to industrialize, and to pursue development policies that have brought millions of people out of abject poverty, resulting in rising income levels.
- On May 31, 1910, four colonies were joined together to create the Union of South Africa, a self-governing Dominion in the British Empire.
- Great political unrest, violence, burning of villages, andsegregation of blacks and whites led to boycotts and riots.
- When there was a deadlock on sanctions against South Africa because of the opposition of its trading partners, the United Nations launched.
- The country became a fully sovereign nation state within the British Empire, in 1934 following enactment of the Status of the Union Act.

- My reasoning for saying maybe if they had came to an agreement things would've been better is because I know that dealing with politics there are a lot of disagreements and agruements.
