- Earthquake Hazards refer to earthquake agents which causeharm to a vulnerable targets which can either be humans, animals or even theenvironment. The effects of an earthquake can be classified as primary orsecondary.

- Primary effects are permanent features an earthquake can bring out. Examples include fault scarps, ruptures, and offsets of natural or human-constructed objects. Meanwhile, secondary effects happen when ground movement results to other types of destruction. Examples include landslides, tsunami, and fire.

- Encountering these is a life and death situation. That is why we need to prepare ourselves in case earthquakes happen. Some tips I can give in order to reduce the risks are the following. First, secure your space byidentifying hazards and securing moveable items. Plan to be safe bycreating a disaster plan and deciding how you will communicate in an emergency.

- Next, organize disastersupplies in convenient locations. Minimize future struggles byorganizing important documents, strengthening your property, and consideringinsurance. Evacuate if necessary. Duck, cover, and hold when the earth shakes.

- After the disaster, wait for the announcement of authorities and recover your daily life by reconnecting with others, repairing damage, and rebuilding community. You can seek financial assistance from volunteer groups or from the government.. As weeks pass by, fill yourself again with further knowledge and prepare for the next coming calamities.
