- And today were going check to see if articulatory suppression would affect serial recall of a printed list of phonologically distinct letters.
- And Im Bartling
- We will divide the 34 undergraduate psychology students into two groups at random.
- Participants are tested individually and asked to recall lists of letters from ten lists, each made up of a series of seven random letters that dont sound alike. Each series is presented one at a time. The answer sheet has seven blank spaces. The experimental group performed will perform the task with articulatory suppression task. The experimental group say the numbers one and two at a pace of two numbers per second while recalling a list of letters.
- In comparison to the control group, the experimental group performed worse. The experimental group had a mean% of 45%, whereas the control group's was 76%.
- The results back up our experimental premise. We also found Less accurate working memory is caused by articulatory suppression, which disrupts the phonological loop. Finally, we found that due to overload, articulatory suppression hinders phonological loop rehears
