RISING ACTION 2
The main character, Lizabeth, lives in a small deserted town during the Great Depression. The narrator explains that it is a town of mostly wasteland, but there is one part of the town that stands out; Miss Lottie's marigolds.
CLIMAX
The action rises as Lizabeth's parents have an argument about their financial problems. This leads to Lizabeth realizes how bad their situation is at the moment.
FALLING ACTION
Lizabeth and her little brother then go out of the house to play, which leads them to arriving at Miss Lottie's marigold garden. Lizabeth suddenly has the urge to tear apart all the flowers.
RESOLUTION
The climax is when Lizabeth suddenly feels remorse and regret for what she had just done to the marigolds. MIss Lottie comes out of the house, finding Lizabeth sobbing on the ground.

A while later, Lizabeth reminisces about the situation she was in. After what happened, Lizabeth reflects and thrives.
As Lizabeth realizes the world is crumbling around her, she finally realizes the responsibility and dedication she must have as she grows up as a woman.
