- Sir with all due respect i would like to ask if why did i not get paid for my maternity leave because it was approved and why am i being dismmised?
- I do not tolerate disrepect in here your maternity leave was not approved and you were absent for 3 months that is why i had to dismiss you

- i told him that my maternity leave was approved and i do have proof that my leave was approved but Mr.Daniels says that i was absent .
- That is an unfair dismissal you did apply for the leave and i was approved then they should have paid you for your maternity leave.

- In this scene: Mrs.Smiths's colleagues informs her that nont only she is part of a trade union but she can contact her shop steward Mrs.McKenzie

- We are here to lodge a complain. We did not get paid for our leaves i was hoping you can help us.
- In this scene: Mrs.Smith explains to Mrs.McKenzie who is her shop steward about what happend. Mrs.McKenzie inform Mrs Smith that the sistuation will be attended and she shall get back to her.
- Okay my fellow people you can go back to work i will talk to your manager and i will get back to you.
- In this scene:Pick n Pay emplouees elect their new shop steward. A shp steward act as a link between the higher level of the union leadership and the employees on the ground. therefore the shop steward must inform workers of union plans and policies and inform the leardership of the concerns of workers.

- In this scene: Pick n Pay workers went to the shop steward MrsMcKenzie and they told her that also their leaves were not paid they were wondering if she could gelp them.A shop steward has an important role of listening to fellow employees and giving them rational advice.
- In this scene: Mrs McKenzie is telling the workers that the must get back to work she will look through the matter.A shop steward role is to report back to the workers as promised and report every meeting with management.
