Mother, I cannot leave you in the mountains to die alone. We are going home no matter what the lord does to punish me.
Bring me a box containing one thousand ropes of ash and I will spare your village.
Mother, Lord Higa has treated out village, and the only way he will leave us alone is if we bring him a box with one thousand ropes of ash
That's easy all one has to do is soak an ordinary rope in salt water and dry it well. When burned, keep the rope in its shape and there you have a rope of ash.
You must bring me a box with one thousand ropes of ash
Now, bring me a drum that sounds without being beaten.
Now, you shall put a piece of silk through this log
