  • Opening the Talk to the Public
  • Prior to conducting the presentation, the group plans on heading to one of the tech rooms to gather the equipment necessary to film the TEDTalk, and to display any media on a screen. We will coordinate with AV to see if and when they can assist us in setting up the equipment.
  • Allowing Spectators to Settle
  • After getting the equipment from the tech rooms, we will return back to the GTR and begin setting up the equipment. This process will include setting it up, as well as doing a quick run through before inviting the classes to come spectate.#160;
  • Five Minute Warning
  • Roughly halfway through the period, we will then announce that classes interested in viewing the TEDTalk have the opportunity to come to the GTR. If we plan on inviting specific classes, this information will be provided in the info we provide to teachers.
  • Mila Opens
  • Student Voice and Opinion
  • We understand that there will be some time between classes entering the GTR and beginning the TEDTalk, therefore we will allow some time for spectators to settle in the GTR before starting the TEDTalk. In the meantime, there will be the opportunity to do any final tech#160; runthroughs, while beginning to mingle and make conversation with the audience.
  • Five minutes before starting to speak, we will place a timer onto the screen so viewers are aware that the session is about to commence.
  • Mila will begin speaking, as she will open the TEDTalk by introducing herself, then the other members of the group, before discussing the subject, the subtopics and their purpose and the overarching goal of the Talk. She will alslo expand on the importance of the topic to us, and use statistics to support the information that is about to be shared.
