I did. I think he has enough Greek fire to fill an Amphitheater. I also heard that others are conspiring against him
That isn't good. I need to find a way to stop him.
Hey, did you hear that the emperor was going to burn down Rome?
The setting of this story is in Ancient Rome during a lukewarm spring. It is flat in most of the city and is calm. It takes place during multiple days. The story is told from the protagonist's point of view in first person. This story is told in first person because it is my favorite way to tell a story and, for me, it's the easiest. Another reason why this story is told in first person is because many of the books I've read that take place in Ancient Rome are in first person.
Climax
The person on the left is the protagonist of the story, Octavion, has brown hair, stormy-gray eyes, and his skin is slightly olive tinted. Along with being fit for his age, he looks young, and handsome in a way. Octavion is loyal to Rome, kind to almost everyone, and is a fierce fighter while not changing a lot during the story. He lost his dad when he was 3 years old and honors them by being in the legion. The person on the right is the antagonist, Emperor Gaius Caesar Germanica who is a very power hungry man with fiery red hair, red eyes, and a light skin color. He is muscular and youthful for an emperor. He is static and flat because his ego is bigger than the Sun and we only see one side of his personality, the pyromaniac/sociopath side that thinks the world revolves around him.
Falling Action
I think we should overthrow the emperor. He literally executed citizens who don't want Rome to burn.
The conflict of this story is that the emperor is planning to burn down Rome. It can be identified as man vs. society as multiple people in Rome are wanting to overthrow the emperor. This will lead up to the climax because the emperor will hear about this and execute a group of people who were conspiring against him.
Resolution
Emperor Gaius Caesar Germanica found out that some of the citizens of Rome were conspiring against him to keep Rome from burning. He is now publicly executing some of those citizens to show the other citizens what happens to those who conspire against him.
The conflict, the fact that the emperor is planning to burn Rome, is starting to be resolved because Octavion convinced the legatus legionis (the leader of the legion) to overthrow the emperor. The legatus and Octavion are good friends which is how Octavion convinced the legatus. The theme of the story is "Live every moment as though it could be your last" because the emperor, with his ego, thinks he can't die, therefore, he will be shocked when the legion attempts to overthrow him.
Yeah, we should overthrow him, great idea. He's been acting like a pyromaniac and a sociopath. I'll see if I can get the rest of the legion to help.
The resolution of this story ends with a cliffhanger because the story ends abruptly with members of the legion charging up to the emperor. We also don't know if the emperor survived this attack since we don't actually see if he can fight off the legion single-handed. I chose to end this story with a cliffhanger since it would be more accurate to how some of the actual emperors of Rome had died.
