This is the old woman and the old man. They live in a house near the river.
The old woman and old man were hungry. The old woman made a gingerbread man.
Stop! Stop!
She used chocolate chips for eyes, licorice for a mouth, and red M&Ms for buttons.
When he was done cooking, the Gingerbread man jumped out of the oven and out the window.
The Gingerbread man ran outside. He sang, "Run, run as fast as you can. You can't catch me!"
The Gingerbread man ran. He saw a pig. He sang, "You can't catch me."
The Gingerbread man ran and ran. A goose tried to stop him. He sang, "You can't catch me!"
The Gingerbread man came to a river. He would crumble if he got wet. He needed help. A wolf came.
The wolf pretended to help the Gingerbread man.
When the Gingerbread man stepped off the wolf's back, the wolf ate him.
Don't forget that the Gingerbread man was a cookie. The wolf liked cookies just like the old woman and old man.
