- Mr White and his son were playing chess in the living room when Sergeant- Major Morris came into the house holding a monkey's paw. He has somewhat of a worried look on his face when he started explaining why he has this strange object. He said that the monkey's paw could grant one person three wishes.
- Climax
- Knock Knock Knock
- He warned Mr white not to make the wishes because of something that might happen after. Mr White took the paw and everyone thought it was a joke. Mrs White convinced Mr White to make a wish for 200 pounds so they could pay off their mortgage. After he wished for that and the day went by without getting the money they didn't believe the monkey's paw granted wishes.
- Falling Action
- The next morning Herbert the son of Mr and Mrs White left for work. A few hours later they get a knock on the door with one of Herberts coworkers standing at there with a bag of money and a sad look on his face. He soon tells the Whites that Herbert had been caught in some machinery and had died. His coworker gave them 200 pounds for this horrible incident. The Whites wish had come true for the money but it cost them their beloved son.
- Resolution
- In the middle of the night Mrs White told her husband to wish their boy alive again and he did. Mr white had to go to Herberts work to make sure it was Herbert who had died and was only able to recognise him by his clothes because of how torn up he was. He knew that his wife would be startled and very upset if she had saw him in that condition. So after he made the wish there was knocking at the door and his wife was very excited. Mr white
